TITAN is the latest in pre-engineered Waste Water Systems for Municipal & Industrial applications.The innovative TITAN MBR marries the wastewater treatment engineering expertise that developed FAST® with submerged membrane technology. The combination yields a dynamic membrane biological reactor (MBR), a system that provides end-users with high-quality treatment performance, minimal operational requirements, and a robust design that will stand the test of time. TITAN MBR delivers results with value-added engineering experience.

Plants come in standard and custom designs, and result in smaller footprints than conventional systems. The submerged membrane eliminates clarifiers and sand filters while still producing significantly better effluent quality. Integral zones can be added to meet particular effluent goals, including nutrient removal, disinfection, and post-aeration.

TITAN MBR™ Flat-Plate Membranes - rated at the microfiltration level - maintain high permeability and flux rates even at peak-day rates. They stack within a fully submerged module inside the aeration zone. Chemical cleaning occurs efficiently inplace - typically on a semi-annual basis*—with simple chemical injection.

How It Works

Sufficient transmembrane pressure created by gravity drives the flow through the membranes. Clean water discharges into a clearwell while blocked solids remain suspended in the aeration zone. Diffusers beneath the module scour the membranes while also providing air supply to the bacteria.

Provides Long-Term Durability

Composed of PVDF [polyvinylidene fluoride] and a nonwoven polyester fabric, the vertical membrane surfaces do not touch each other during operation. A robust design prevents breakage experienced in other designs and produces higher flux rates over time.

Effectively Combats Problem Constituents

TITAN MBR™ membranes eliminate clogging problems experienced in hollow fiber designs. The Flat-Plate design with its smooth, continuous surface prevents the buildup of solids that result from hollow fibers being bundled by stringy solids—like hair.

Offers More Economical Cleaning Methods

TITAN MBR™ membranes utilize less chemicals and equipment than other designs. No backpulsing is required, which eliminates associated pumping equipment. TITAN MBR™ membranes facilitate air scouring in the aeration zone much more effectively than hollow fiber designs by the simple fact of their flat surfaces.

MODULAR FAST® SYSTEMS

The Modular FAST® is an advanced wastewater treatment system for constant fluctuations in flows and loadings, working well in applications like isolated schools, remote business parks, small municipalities and water reuse applications that directly discharge into threatened environments. Consisting of a tank packed with fixed media that is totally submerged in wastewater, Modular FAST provides high quality effluent that can discharge directly into a leach field, lagoon or constructed wetland. Bacteria are "fixed" or attached to the media. This prevents hydraulic peaks from washing the bacteria out, provides a higher surface area to volume ratio and ensures a longer sludge age than conventional activated sludge systems. A longer sludge age enables the Modular FAST system to operate efficiently in colder climates, handle toxins and hydraulic shock loads more easily, and produces less sludge. Because the bacteria on the media are self-regulating, Modular FAST requires little to no daily operator attention. A zone underneath the media exists for the sludge to settle and collect for further digestion in an anaerobic environment. Modular FAST® can be installed above or below grade offering high quality wastewater treatment while preserving the aesthetics of the environment.

ModularFAST® is a highly flexible system designed to replacing existing septic treatment or provide new onsite systems in municipal, private development and industrial process wastewater applications requiring superior BOD / TSS removal and nitrification / denitrification.
ModularFAST® maintains high levels of bacterial concentrations because it is a "Fixed Activated Sludge Treatment" process. This provides stable operation, breaking down biodegradable constituents in the wastewater and preventing bulking conditioning and settling problems.
With high bacterial concentrations the ModularFAST® system provides long sludge age, achieving nitrification and denitrification easier. Less sludge is produced.
Because bacteria are attached to the FAST® media in the aeration zone, the system prevents washout of bacteria enabling the ModularFAST® system to handle easily peaks in hydraulic loads. It is highly resistant to hydraulic and organic shock loads.
As there is only one moving part requiring electricity, the air blower, ModularFAST® has low energy requirements

Modular FAST Design Features

Influent Pipe - Carries wastewater directly from the septic tank and into the Modular FAST system.
Solids Collection Zone - Keeps sludge away from the media to allow effective circulation of liquid through the media. Anaerobic conditions digests sludge further.
Draft Tube - Works in concert with air supply to disperse the liquid evenly over the surface of the FAST media, providing continuous circulation of the wastewater. Because the bacteria grow on the media, the liquid is essentially clear and free of suspended solids, which differentiates Modular FAST from conventional activated sludge systems.
FAST Media - Provides a fixed site for the bacteria in an environment ideal for rapid bacterial growth (oxygen and food are equally distributed to the bacteria coated on the media). Allows long sludge age and low sludge production. The high surface-to-volume ratio ensures a large number of bacteria are available for metabolizing the waste. Produces a continually high level of treatment.
Sludge Withdrawal Pipes - Provides convenient access to sludge for periodic testing and removal of settled sludge.
System Tank - This can be any concrete, steel or fiberglass tank that is suitable for the application. A steel tank can be provided by Pinnacle.
Module - Packed with bacteria laden media, the base maintains the necessary structural support.
Blower -Supplies oxygen for the bacteria to grow and multiply. Can be located up to 100 feet away in a low traffic area. The blower is the only moving mechanical part of the system.
Odorless Effluent - Contains very low BOD and TSS levels, discharging into the existing leach field, lagoon, disposal well, constructed wetlands or sewer.
